|George Miller is a journalist, photojournalist and proud Philadelphian.
He worked at the Philadelphia Daily News for more than 11 years, serving as a staff photographer, features writer, general assignment reporter and police beat writer. His words and images have appeared throughout the paper, in every section.
Since leaving the paper in 2005, he has freelanced as a writer and photographer for numerous publications, on numerous subjects. The only common denominator in all his articles (and images) is that they are focused on the city and its citizens.
Recent stories have been about pet psychics, condos built in former churches, Philly lawyers who are representing Iraqi's who were abused in American military prisons in Iraq, a group of bicyclists who make midnight runs to a South Philly pretzel factory every Tuesday, the Philadelphia Zoo's elephants and gay gun enthusiasts.
Before arriving at Temple, Professor Miller taught at Loyola College in Maryland and Wilmington College in Delaware.
He has also taught in summer journalism programs in Italy and Northern Ireland. |
